『My Aim Is True (49th Anniversary Edition)』は、Declan MacManusがいかにしてElvis Costelloへと生まれ変わったのか、その原点をたどる決定版ボックス・セットだ。
全5CD・104曲を収録し、そのうち52曲は未発表音源。未発表曲、デモ、アウトテイク、ライヴ音源を収め、Elvis Costelloの初期キャリアを多角的に辿ることができる。
さらに、Elvis Costello自身による72ページに及ぶライナー・エッセイを収録。
未公開写真に加え、制作当時の手書き歌詞や、1976年に『My Aim Is True』を制作していた頃の日記も掲載されている。

本作は、以下の5枚のCDで構成される。
CD1：『My Aim Is True (2026 Remaster)』　1977年のオリジナル・アナログ・マスター・テープから新たにリマスターしたアルバム本編。
CD2：『The Blue Print』　『My Aim Is True』制作以前に録音されたアコースティック音源とデモを収録。
CD3：『The Stranger In The House』　Declan MacManusがElvis Costelloへと変貌を遂げる過程を、全28曲で描くコレクション。
CD4：『Becoming The Attractions』　The Attractionsが『My Aim Is True』の楽曲を自らのものとし、その勢いで突き進んでいく過程を収録。
CD5：『Covered In Clover』　CostelloとCloverが『My Aim Is True』の楽曲をライヴで共演した、2007年の最初で最後のパフォーマンスを収録。
