On July 3rd, the rock band VAMPS, formed by HYDE (L\u2019Arc~en~Ciel) and K.A.Z (Oblivion Dust), have released \u201c\u24b6HEAD\/REPLAY\u201d, their first single since signing with Universal Music.<\/p>\r\n
In the 5 years since VAMPS\u2019 formation in 2008, they have released 8 singles and 2 albums, as well as playing more than 250 live gigs both in Japan and overseas. Their highly acclaimed performances had them playing in North and South America, Europe and Asia as part of their previous world tour, with their second album \u201cBEAST\u201d (released in July 2010) ranking 4th on the South American charts - the first time ever for a Japanese artist to achieve such success.<\/p>\r\n
The newest CD single \u201c\u24b6HEAD\/REPLAY\u201d was simultaneously released worldwide via digital download and at the release event two major announcements were made: the details of their upcoming world tour and the release of the \u2018Best Of\u2019 album this Fall, ‘SEX BLOOD ROCK N’ ROLL’.<\/p>\r\n
The World Tour will be held in partnership with LIVE NATION, known for working with the likes of international stars Lady Gaga, Madonna and U2. The venues announced include Barcelona, Spain @APOLO\u00a0 (Sat, Sept 28th), Paris, France @Olympia (Tue, Oct 1st), Berlin, Germany @Kesselhaus (Thu, Oct 3rd) and London, UK @O2 Academy Islington (Mon, Oct 7th).<\/p>\r\n
The greatest hits album will not only be a compilation of tracks previously released in Japan, but a portrayal of the \u201ccurrent and newest\u201d VAMPS, with all the vocals and some tracks being re-recorded especially for this release. HYDE says, \u201cThis \u2018Best Of\u2019 album that we gave ourselves entirely to is designed to launch VAMPS into the world.\u201d<\/p>\r\n
The announcement will certainly serve as a long awaited answer to the numerous requests for a world tour and a new album, from fans all over the world as seen on their official Facebook page. Commenting \u201cWe want to perform and make music worldwide, just as we do in Japan\u201d, VAMPS will kick off their global expansion with this tour and album, surely leaving a sensational mark on the Japanese music scene.<\/p>\r\n
Live Viewing events, which will have live broadcasts from VAMPS\u2019 current tour \u201cVAMPS LIVE 2013\u201d, have also been announced in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and the U.S..<\/p>\r\n
