After repeating trial and error to complete the work with paint as the leading role, I realized that the more I put on the canvas, the more the action of painting started to take precedence over the paint itself. So I set down the rule of “Minimal Action, One Stroke” and have been abiding by this rule to create my work. The world’s oldest synthetic pigment was a blue paint that was made in Egypt some 3,500 years ago. This was known as “artificial lapis lazuli” or “artificial blue.” It is for that reason that I use blue as the representative color in my works on paint.

ABOUT MUSIC AND ART

Both music and the creation of art are very fascinating to me. When I’m painting, I can’t really get the sensation of music in my head, so I don’t listen to music. When I’m concentrating, I can only do one thing at a time—all of a sudden, I’ll have lost a whole day. This happens whether I’m creating a painting or listening to music. When I encounter some pleasant music, I’ll try to listen to it for just a little while during a break, but even still I’ll find myself focusing on it, and before I know it the day will be over. We’ve come to a point in history when people can listen to music any time, any place, with ease. But I think time for just listening to music is very important. It enriches your life.

Mina Katsuki PLAYLIST

“0:30:38(upper right)”, “0:24:57(lower left)”, “0:32:04(lower right)” &nbs […]

["post-173","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
